Clermont Veteran Receives Home Repairs Thanks to Habitat & Home Depot Foundation

A local veteran is getting an early Christmas gift this year, thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter and the generous support of The Home Depot Foundation.
Michael, a veteran living in Clermont, will receive nearly $45,000 in critical home repairs through Habitat for Humanity’s Veterans Housing Initiative. The extensive renovations include new windows, soffit, ceilings, walls, doors, flooring, as well as bathroom and kitchen updates, all aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and comfort.

(The inside of Michael’s home will get much needed repairs such as this hole in the roof.)
Of the total investment, $20,000 is being provided directly by The Home Depot Foundation, a long-time partner committed to supporting veterans nationwide.
“This kind of impact simply wouldn’t be possible without partners like The Home Depot Foundation,” says Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter. “Because of their commitment to serving those who’ve served, Michael will have a safer, healthier, and more comfortable home this holiday season.”
The project is part of Habitat Lake-Sumter’s ongoing mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, especially for those who have served in the armed forces.
We look forward to seeing the finished product in the next few months.
