church-bellsThe city of Eustis and municipal partners are encouraging people to show their support in a special way for workers who are serving tirelessly in the fight against COVID-19.

Churches, businesses and anyone else interested in participating are being asked to ring bells of thanks at 4:15pm Wednesday, April 15, a news release states.

“This is a small way for each of us to say thank you to the frontline essential workers. From medical professionals to first responders, government employees, retail workers, farmers and so many more, thank you,” says Eustis Commissioner Karen LeHeup-Smith, who suggested the effort during an April 2 City Commission meeting after a resident contacted her about the idea.

The partners include Lake Eustis Chamber of Commerce, Lake County, city of Mount Dora, Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce, city of Tavares, Tavares Chamber of Commerce, city of Leesburg, Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Leesburg Partnership, city of DeLand, MainStreet DeLand Association and South Lake Chamber of Commerce.
