Bushnell, FL – On Friday, a heartwarming celebration marked the dedication of a brand-new home for the Fluitt family—built from the ground up in Bushnell by the talented students of The Villages Charter School Construction Academy, known as the Buffalo Builders and RoMac Building Supply.

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Florida, the student-led team took on the ambitious project not only to sharpen their skills, but to make a real difference in the community. Over the course of the build, these future tradespeople gained hands-on experience in every phase of construction—from framing and roofing to finishing touches—while embodying the spirit of service and teamwork.

The occasion was filled with gratitude, smiles, and a sense of pride shared by all who had a hand in the project. The Fluitt family, now officially homeowners, expressed their deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication that went into creating a safe and beautiful space for their future.

This isn’t just a house—it’s a dream come true for this family. This is a testament to what happens when community and education come together for a common cause.”

As the Fluitts prepare to make new memories in their new home, the Buffalo Builders will carry the lessons learned and the impact made into their future careers. We are proud of everyone who had a hand in this project including Romac Building Supply which continues it’s long-time commitment to helping build up Lake & Sumter County.
