Coronavirus cases rise in Lake and Sumter counties

The number of coronavirus cases continues climbing in Lake and Sumter counties, according to the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 Dashboard. Between Friday morning and Monday afternoon, Lake County had 15 new cases, while Sumter County had 14 new cases.

Here’s a breakdown of the numbers.

Residents: 97
Residents not in Florida: 0
Non-Residents: 7
Age Range: 17 to 86
Men: 47
Women: 57
Deaths: 2
Hospitalizations: 25

Leesburg: 14

Tavares: 10

The Villages’ portion of Lake: 6

Mount Dora: 6

Lady Lake: 5

Groveland: 5

Mascotte: 5

Eustis: 5

Minneola: 4

Unknown: 1

SUMTER:
Residents: 80
Residents not in Florida: 0
