Dash Sports Celebrating 18 Years of Fueling Active Lifestyles in South Lake
Dash Sports, the cornerstone of the Clermont and greater South Lake County athletic community, proudly marks its 18th year of operation. As a beacon for runners, walkers, and triathletes, Dash Sports has dedicated nearly two decades to fostering a culture of health and activity, under the visionary leadership of Kimberly Grogan. This woman-owned enterprise has not only survived but thrived, evolving from its original incarnation as Gear for MultiSport to the dynamic, community-centric Dash Sports of today.
Since its inception in 2006, Dash Sports has been on a mission to inspire and equip individuals to “Live Actively” from the cradle to the grave. The ethos of the company is encapsulated in its name – “Dash” symbolizes the journey of life, emphasizing the importance of making every moment count through an active and healthy lifestyle. Kimberly Grogan, driven by her passion for retail and physical education, has been the driving force behind the brand, steering it from its original location at the National Training Center to its current, expansive home in downtown Clermont.
Nestled just a block away from the scenic Clermont’s Waterfront Park and Lake Minneola, Dash Sports is more than a retail space. It is a hub for the athletic community, offering not only top tier running and walking shoes but also personalized service that reflects the staff’s genuine love for fitness and extensive industry knowledge. With backgrounds as runners and triathletes themselves, the team at Dash Sports brings invaluable insights into the needs of their clientele, offering advice on everything from equipment to local training spots.
Kimberly Grogan reflects on the journey, stating, “Our goal has always been to help our community live their most active and fulfilling lives. Seeing how far we’ve come in 18 years, from Gear for MultiSport to Dash Sports, and knowing we’ve made a real difference in people’s lives is incredibly rewarding. We’re more than just a store; we’re a part of our customers’ lives, helping them find the perfect fit for their journey.”
At Dash Sports, the belief is strong that the right pair of running or walking shoes can transform a person’s life and health. The selection at Dash Sports is meticulously curated, featuring leading brands like Hoka and Brooks, known for their balance of comfort and support. Understanding that each customer is unique, Dash Sports prides itself on offering free custom shoe fittings as well as a wide range of sizes and styles to ensure that everyone can find their perfect fit and embrace an active lifestyle.
As Dash Sports looks to the future, the company remains committed to its founding principles while embracing new opportunities to serve and inspire. “Our 18th anniversary is more than a milestone—it’s a springboard for the next chapter in our journey to empower and equip our community for a lifetime of activity,” Grogan reflects. “We’re proud of our past and excited for what’s to come.”
As part of the 18th-anniversary celebrations, Dash Sports is inviting the community to join them on Wednesday, May 22, for a day of festivities. Beginning at 10 am, the event will feature refreshments, a chance to win a pair of Hoka shoes, and an opportunity to share memories of the past 18 years. The celebration will culminate in the Wednesday Night Group Run/Walk at 6:30 pm, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and active living that Dash Sports promotes.
