A dog missing for two days was rescued by Lake County Fire Rescue emergency crews over the weekend after being found trapped beneath a shed in Lake County.

Lake County Fire Rescue Station 39 responded to the call in Sorrento, where they discovered the dog weak and unable to escape from underneath decking behind a shed. Working in coordination with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, firefighters carefully removed paver blocks and dug out a safe escape path to free the animal.

The dog was safely rescued and reunited with its owner, officials said.

“This is a sweet reminder that our work extends beyond fires and emergencies, it’s about serving our community, including those with paws,” Lake County Fire Rescue said in a statement.

Among those on the scene were Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Brunner, Fire Rescue Lt. Mark Pereira, and firefighters Marc Rivera and Max Lopez. We are thankful for their response and the rescue of the pooch. Great job.
