census-montage-of-wordsThe League of Women Voters of The Villages/Tri-County is urging people to remember to fill out their 2020 Census forms. Data gathering has been extended to Aug. 14 for home interviews and to Oct. 31 for self-reporting by phone, mail or online. Just 10 minutes of time filling out the form can affect the next 10 years until the 2030 Census. Population results of the Census are used to determine legislative districts and congressional representation, and federal funding for roads, schools, parks, Medicaid, substance abuse prevention and treatment, retraining workers and more. The League of Women Voters, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering informed voters.
