East Ridge High’s Anthony Stoneburg Commits to Southeastern University
Anthony “AJ” Stoneburg has committed to Southeastern University to continue his academic and athletic career. Stoneburg, a standout wide receiver from East Ridge High, has made a name for himself on the field. At 6’2″ and 155 lbs, he has showcased his talent and determination throughout the season.
This season, Stoneburg appeared in five games, amassing 10 receptions for 253 yards. He scored 2 touchdowns and averaged an impressive 25 yards per reception. Although he played in only half of the season’s games, his performance suggests that he was on track for at least a 500-yard season or more. This level of play is particularly noteworthy, suggesting that his numbers could have been even higher had he participated in all 10 games.
Off the field, Stoneburg has been actively engaging with fans and followers on his Twitter/X page, sharing updates and insights into his journey. His commitment and work ethic have been evident to all who follow him, making it clear that he’s not just a talented athlete but also an extremely hard worker.
The decision by Southeastern University to welcome AJ Stoneburg to their roster is a significant one. Located just down the road in Lakeland, the University competes in the NAIA and is keen on bolstering their team with top talent. Stoneburg’s addition is expected to be a major asset as Southeastern University aims to improve on their 5-5 season record in 2023.
Stoneburg’s synergy on the field, particularly his communication with quarterback Cole Rylski last year, highlights his potential to excel at the collegiate level. This opportunity at Southeastern University presents a new chapter for Stoneburg, where he will compete alongside some of the best talents in the NAIA.
We extend our best wishes to Anthony Stoneburg as he embarks on his collegiate journey. His dedication and performance have already made his friends, family, and coaching staff incredibly proud. Congratulations, Anthony, on taking this next step in your athletic and academic career.
