East Ridge Senior Leads Lake and Sumter in Kills, Finishes Stellar Four-Year Volleyball Career

East Ridge High School senior Ashlyn Crane closed out her high school volleyball career with a record-setting season, leading all players in Lake and Sumter counties in kills.
Crane finished the season with 287 kills and 113 digs, capping off an impressive four-year varsity run with a total of 594 career kills. She was honored earlier this season when she surpassed the 500-kill milestone during a home match.
“As it stands right now, I know some schools don’t enter all their stats like they should, but Ashlyn has the most kills in all of Lake and Sumter Counties,” says Erin Crane. “She finishes the year at 287 kills and 113 digs.”
Ashlyn also ranked No. 1 for kills in Class 7A District 5 and No. 16 in the entire 7A division, one of the state’s most competitive classifications.
East Ridge’s season ended in dramatic fashion, falling to West Orange in a five-set district final thriller, losing by just three points. The team went on to play in the first round of regionals — marking East Ridge’s first regional appearance in five years.
“She was a four-year varsity player,” Erin says, “and we’re just so proud of what she’s accomplished.”
