Eustis High Softball Dominates The Villages 12-1 to Capture District Championship

EUSTIS, Fla. — Carson Roden tossed a five-inning gem and Emmy Luke tied a school record as the Eustis High School Lady Panthers stormed past The Villages 12-1 to win the District Championship on Thursday night.
Roden was dominant in the circle, striking out eight while allowing just two hits and one run in the shortened contest. Her efficient outing kept The Villages off balance and set the tone early for the Panthers’ title-clinching performance.

At the plate, Luke continued her impressive season with a towering home run, her 12th of the year, tying the school’s single-season home run record. She also collected three RBIs in the victory.
Adrianna Covino sparked the offense from the top of the lineup, scoring a team-high three runs, while Brooklynn Mason, Brooklyn Powhida, and Kendall Kemp each drove in two runs to fuel the Panthers’ explosive offense.

Eustis jumped out early and never looked back, overwhelming The Villages with a balanced attack and sharp defense en route to the mercy-rule win and the district title.
For coach Tyra Bowers this was her first district championship as the Eustis High School head coach. Taking over for Brittany Beall who left for Florida A&M, Bowers took lessons learned from coach Beall and the team has responded all season long. While the district championship is nice, the team will now set its sights on winning back-to-back state championships. The FHSAA Softball tournament begins next week with the lineups coming out this weekend.
Congratulations to the Eustis High School Lady Panthers—District Champions once again. 🏆
