Eustis Memorial Library Launches “Your Card, Your Way” Campaign for National Library Card Sign-Up Month In celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month this September, the Eustis Memorial Library is thrilled to announce the “Your Card, Your Way” campaign. This initiative invites all Lake County residents to enjoy the numerous benefits of a library card, while customizing their experience with card designs that capture the charm and history of Eustis.

Starting September 1st, patrons can choose from three vibrant library card designs, each featuring a beautiful vintage postcard image of the city of Eustis. Whether you’re a new patron or you’re interested in swapping out your existing card, select the card of your choice, free of charge (September only).

“Your Card, Your Way” is about more than just an aesthetic card upgrade: it’s an invitation to discover the wealth of free resources available to you! Getting your card at the Eustis Memorial Library grants you all of the perks of a Lake County Library System card, plus exclusive access to databases and digital content available only to EML cardholders.

Visit our website for the full EML Exclusives list, but here are some highlights:

● Leave long e-book wait times in the past with the Boundless app, available only to Eustis cardholders!

● Explore 24/7 automotive repair resources to keep your vehicle running smoothly- and even ask a certified mechanic questions!- with Chilton Online.

● Access hundreds of free, attorney-prepared legal forms for both personal and professional use with Gale Legal Forms.

The card designs also serve to highlight the Library’s extensive historical postcard collection, generously donated by the Bishop family. Simply ask a staff member for access to the Local History Room to browse the full collection.

We’ll wrap up the month-long celebration with a fantastic free program, “Having Fun, Wish You Were Here! An Illustrated History of the Postcard in Florida”. Join award-winning Sarasota author and publisher Liz Coursen on a trip back in time- from a Florida when ox carts traveled via ferry and air-conditioning existed only in the imagination, to a Florida of Streamliners & Orange Blossom Specials- using museum-quality postcards to tell the tale. The event will take place in the Library Community Room on Thursday, September 26th from 6-7PM. Give the library a call at 352-357-5686 to sign up and save your spot!

“We’re excited to offer our patrons custom library cards that celebrate the rich heritage of Eustis,” said Lauren McLaughlin, EML adult services librarian and organizer of the new card campaign. “An EML card opens doors to invaluable resources and services, making it an essential tool for everyone in our community.”

Getting your library card has never been easier. Simply visit the Eustis Memorial Library this September to sign up for a library card or replace your current card for free.
