Lady Lake Police Seek Public’s Help on 2-Year Anniversary of Unsolved Homicide

On the two-year anniversary of the town’s only unsolved homicide, the Lady Lake Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving the case.

Bryson “Swift” Leverette, 20, was one of two people shot at 104 Caroline Ave. on June 30, 2023. Lady Lake police responded within minutes and performed life-saving measures, but Leverette was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim survived.

The initial investigation revealed that both victims were leaving a home in the Skyline Hills area of Lady Lake around 12:44 a.m. when they were attacked by a group of suspects armed with multiple firearms. The suspects fled the scene in unknown vehicles.

Since Leverette’s death, his girlfriend has given birth to their son. His mother, family and friends continue to grieve and await news of an arrest.

“No mother should ever go through the pain of having to bury their child, especially a child who was a victim of a senseless and violent crime,” said Detective Ronnie Williams, the lead investigator on the case. “The Lady Lake Police Department will continue to work diligently to see that those responsible for Bryson’s death are brought to justice.”

Detectives continue to follow leads and are requesting assistance from the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Ronnie Williams at (352) 751-1542 or rwilliams@ladylake.org, or call CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
