Lake County Fair Invites Artists, Bakers, Crafters, and More to Showcase Their Talents

With less than 45 days until the 104th Annual Lake County Fair, organizers are encouraging local artists, bakers, crafters, gardeners, and photographers to participate in one of the fair’s long-standing traditions. The Creative Living Building will once again showcase the talents of Lake County residents, offering a platform for community members of all ages to share their skills in fine arts, culinary creations, home and hobby crafts, horticulture, and photography.
The fair, taking place from April 4 through April 13, provides a unique opportunity for participants to exhibit their work in several divisions. This year, in addition to returning favorites such as fine arts, food arts and sciences, confectionary arts, home and hobby, and horticulture, the fair is introducing a new Photo Walk Competition. The Plein Air Paintingcategory will also return, inviting artists to capture the beauty of Lake County’s landscapes through on-site painting.
Registration deadlines are approaching, with entries for fine arts, food arts and sciences, confectionary arts, home and hobby, and horticulture due by March 7 at 5 p.m.. The deadline for Plein Air and Photo Walk registration is March 21 at 5 p.m. Those interested in entering can find more details and submit their registration at www.lakecofair.com.
In an exciting first for the event, the Lake County Fair will be awarding a $1,500 scholarship for participants in the Creative Living categories. Additional details on eligibility and the application process will be posted on the fair’s website in the coming weeks.
Beyond competition entries, the fair is also seeking volunteers and individuals willing to demonstrate their skills during the event. Organizers encourage participants to not only showcase their work but also engage with the community by sharing their creative processes with fairgoers.
The Lake County Fair has long been a place for the community to come together, and this year’s event aims to continue that tradition by celebrating the skills and creativity of local residents.
