Lake County Fire and Rescure Offers Competitive Pay, Benefits for EMT’s and Paramedics

Tavares, Fla. — Lake County Fire and Rescue is actively hiring emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics, offering competitive salaries, attractive benefits, and a 24/72 schedule for single-certified personnel.

The department provides a starting hourly wage of $19.24 for EMTs, equating to an annual salary of $45,021, while paramedics start at $24.79 per hour, or $58,008 annually. In addition, experienced paramedics are eligible for an $8,000 sign-on bonus.

Employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including Florida Retirement System (FRS) enrollment, career advancement opportunities, and department-sponsored paramedic school for EMTs seeking further certification. Family members of employees also have access to a free health and wellness clinic.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
