Lake County’s Fleet Management Earning National Recognition

Two Lake County Office of Fleet Management members – Director Brenda Peshel and Technician Roger Miller – have been nominated for national awards:
- Peshel, who began working for Lake County in July 2024, is in the running for three awards: Public Fleet Hall of Fame (Government Fleet and the American Public Works Association), Fleet Manager of the Year (Government Fleet magazine), and Fleet Professional of the Year (National Association of Fleet Administrators).
- Miller has been nominated for the Fleet Technician of the Year award (National Association of Fleet Administrators). He began working at Lake County in June 2023.
Miller is one of just 42 people nominated for Fleet Technician of the Year, and Peshel is one of just 44 people nominated for Fleet Professional of the Year. Workers from approximately 150,000 fleets across the United States are eligible for nomination.
“These nominations reflect well on Lake County and the professionalism of our employees,” said Lake County Manager Jennifer Barker. “We know that Brenda, Roger, and the entire Fleet team are excellent at keeping Lake County’s vehicles running so they can serve the community, but it’s great that outside organizations are taking notice.”
Fleet Management services 1,100 vehicles with 10 technicians and four office personnel. The vehicles include Fire Rescue apparatus and road maintenance equipment machines.
