Lake Minneola High Senior Football Player Dylan Stepps Commits to Allegheny College
MINNEOLA, FL. — Lake Minneola High School senior offensive lineman Dylan Stepps has committed to Allegheny College, continuing his football career at the NCAA Division III level. Stepps, a 6-foot, 280-pound force in the trenches, was a key leader for the Hawks’ offensive line and played a crucial role in the team’s dominant ground attack the past few seasons. Stepps played center and guard mostly for Lake Minneola. This kid has a ton of lower body strength which helped him blow through defenders and open up gaps for his running backs to go to work.
Stepps earned FHSAA District 6A Honorable Mention honors for his performance last season, using his strength and low center of gravity to anchor the line. He is a powerful player and he showed that on multiple occasions over the 2024 season. If his power wasn’t enough his red hair certainly turns heads. Coach Chad Mavety nick named him the Red Rifle.
“Thank you God and everyone who helped me through this journey,” Stepps said. “I’ll be committing to Allegheny College to continue my academic and athletic career.”
Allegheny College, located in Meadville, Pennsylvania, has a storied football history, including winning the 1990 NCAA Division III National Championship and claiming 13 conference titles. The Gators compete in the President’s Athletic Conference and the North Coast Athletic Conference, providing Stepps with the opportunity to contribute to a respected program.
Stepps will look to bring his physicality and leadership to Allegheny as he transitions to the college level. Congratulations to Dylan, his family, friends, coaches and everyone who has helped him get to this point in his life.
