Lake Minneola Rally’s Late for 4-3 Win Against South Lake High

The Lake Minneola Hawks had to battle it out on Friday night, but wow, what an incredible game this was. South Lake jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after the first inning. It took a few innings for pitcher Brady Montrowl to get settled in, but once he was through the first two innings, he pitched a terrific game. By the third inning, it was 3-0 South Lake.

A scoreless top of the third inning gave Lake Minneola a chance to eat into the lead. The Hawks would score 2 runs to cut the score to 3-2. The score would remain that way until the bottom of the 7th inning. With 3 outs remaining in the game, South Lake looked like they might pull the upset, but Lake Minneola was able to score 2 runs and win the game 4-3 in epic fashion.

Jose Taveras had a huge day with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Rylan Zinn also had an RBI, while sophomore Fabian Antonsanti would score 2 runs and lead the Hawks in that category. Brady Montrowl pitched 5 innings and gave up 7 hits. He had 5 strikeouts but only gave up 3 runs. He was replaced by Jacob Cali, who pitched a nearly flawless game as the reliever. He went 2 innings and only gave up 1 hit and struck out 3 batters.

(Fabian Antonsanti turns for home. He would score 2 runs on the evening to help Lake Minneola to the 4-3 victory.)

All in all, this was a huge team victory for Lake Minneola. This team is trending in the right direction. They are 9-4 and will have some big games coming up against Leesburg, Osceola, and Tavares this week before another meeting at South Lake next week, which should be another fun showdown.”
