Class 1A District 4

Mount Dora Christian Academy (MDCA) has already secured a spot in the district championship, which will take place on January 30 at 5 p.m. on their home turf. The winner of the Seven Rivers Christian vs. Academy at the Lakessemifinal will face MDCA in the title game.

(Hallie Williams winds up to take a free-kick.)

Under head coach Clayton McDaniel, MDCA is firing on all cylinders heading into the postseason. Emmi Bowman has been a brick wall in goal, while Rylan Conlan leads the offense with a team-high goal tally. Senior Hallie Edwards has contributed 14 goals, and freshman phenom Abigail Feld has provided a crucial boost to the team’s success.

Class 3A District 6

  • #5 South Sumter at #4 Umatilla High
    Date: January 22, 6 p.m.
This regional quarterfinal pits Umatilla High, enjoying its best season in over a decade, against South Sumter. Umatilla’s star forward Ava Mason is on the brink of history, sitting just one goal shy of 90 career goals. With 37 goals this season, a hat trick could see her break the 40-goal milestone. The winner faces an uphill battle against national powerhouse Montverde Academy, ranked #2 in the U.S.

(Ava Mason has been one of the best players in all of Lake County. She has 37 goals scored this season.)

  • #3 The Villages Charter at #2 Lake Highland Prep
    Date: January 23, 6 p.m.
The Villages Charter (11-2-2) faces a daunting task in this stacked district. Led by goalie Kianna Burgos and offensive trio Violet Dougherty, Samaya Khaleel, and Hadassah Tesinsky, the Buffalo hope to pull off an upset and secure a playoff spot, even if it’s as an at-large bid.

Class 7A District 5

The top-seeded East Ridge High earned a bye into the district semifinals and will face the winner of Dr. Phillips vs. Oak Ridge on January 28 at 7 p.m. With nine wins this season, the Lady Knights are favorites to claim the district title.

Seniors Presley Perrino (14 goals) and Jordyn Burns (11 goals) anchor the team, making East Ridge a strong contender for postseason success.

Class 6A District 4

  • #4 Lake Minneola vs. Wekiva
    Date: January 24, 5 p.m.
Senior Zallie Aristodemo has been a bright spot in a challenging season for the Hawks (2-9-1).
  • #3 South Lake vs. Horizon
    Date: January 27, 6 p.m.
South Lake (4-9-1) is led by junior standout Savannah Reichl (17 goals) and Jayna Hutchinson (11 goals). The semifinal winner will play for the championship on January 30 at 6 p.m.

Class 5A District 5

  • #5 Leesburg at #4 Belleview
    Date: January 23, 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Jackets aim to keep their season alive. However, a victory would mean a daunting matchup against Lecanto, a district powerhouse. We wish the best of luck to the Lady Jackets who aim to upset the Rattlers.

Class 4A District 6

  • #3 Eustis at #3 Mount Dora High
    Date: January 28, 7 p.m.
A high-stakes matchup with the season on the line. Mount Dora High boasts an explosive offense, while Eustis counters with rising sophomore Audrina Swindle, who has shined this year.
  • #5 Tavares at #4 Jones High
    Date: January 23, 7:00pm
The winner faces top-seeded Bishop Moore, ranked among Florida’s top 30 teams.
