WOODLAND PARK, Fla. — Ms. Carter could barely contain her joy as she stepped into her newly transformed home, a project brought to life by the hard work and dedication of Leesburg High School’s Construction Academy students. The collaboration with Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Florida resulted in a beautiful makeover, turning the house into a bright, inviting space that Ms. Carter now proudly calls her sanctuary.

Ms. Carter was beaming with gratitude. The students put their heart and soul into every detail of this project, and she couldn’t be more thankful.

Under the guidance of their instructors and Habitat for Humanity the students tackled various tasks, from painting the outside of the home, to cleaning up the yard and trimming the bushes around the front facade.

The goal of the Leesburg Construction Academy is to prepare these students for real-world careers while showing them the value of giving back. Seeing their work come to fruition and the joy it brings to Ms. Carter is a testament to their talent and hard work.

The home transformation is part of Habitat for Humanity’s ongoing efforts to partner with local schools and organizations to build stronger communities. The program not only teaches students practical skills but also fosters a sense of pride and accomplishment as they help families achieve stable housing.

Well done to everyone involved with this project. It came out great!
