Leesburg High School graduate Raleigh Ford is making big strides at FAMU. Ford, who is a graduate of the Leesburg High School Class of 2023, has put on a stellar freshman year at FAMU.

Raleigh is completing her first year as a Health Science Scholar. During her freshman year, she has been involved in many programs at the University. Raleigh has had the opportunity to attend the Southern Regional Honors Council Conference in early April, where she gave a poster presentation titled “A Comparative Analysis of the Healthcare Systems in the United States and Taiwan.”

Recently, Raleigh was admitted into the FAMU Honors Scholars Program, and she was elected President of the Honors Student Association. She has stated that she wants to use her position to help students become active in the honors program and to spread awareness of it.

Raleigh was also just elevated to one of the top student roles in the Behavioral Science and Health Innovation Research (BSHIR) Lab and appointed vice president of the Health Science Professionals Student Association. She will begin working with Dr. Brandon Morton on her honors degree thesis the following academic year.

Raleigh will also be traveling to Spain in May to attend classes and explore the nation with other members of the Honors Living Learning Community.

We absolutely love to hear her success! Thank you to Roz Castile and Lake-Sumter Family on Facebook for the information! If you don’t follow Lake-Sumter Family, they are a group that supports local students who are incoming Rattlers and attending FAMU. You should give them a follow if you can.

We want to congratulate Raleigh on all her accomplishments.
