After nearly 30 years of inspiring and nurturing young minds, longtime educator and preschool director Shannon Davis is retiring. She leaves behind an incredible legacy that has impacted so many lives in Lake County.

Mrs. Davis joined Mount Dora Christian Academy (MDCA) in 2017 as the preschool director. She was honored this week with a farewell celebration from staff and colleagues. Her retirement comes after a successful career that spanned almost three decades, including 20 years in Lake County Public Schools and the past eight years guiding MDCA’s youngest learners.

Mrs. Davis has been a constant source of warmth, stability and excellence at MDCA. She poured her heart into every child, every classroom, and every staff member. Her leadership will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Davis connection to MDCA runs deep. All three of her daughters, Ashton, Avery and Anna are proud graduates of the school, and her impact on the community extends well beyond the classroom.

While the school bids farewell to a cherished director, Mrs. Davis is preparing for her new role of grandmother. She plans to spend her retirement caring for her first grandson, embracing a new chapter filled with family and joy.
