MDCA Football Player Taylor Cline Commits To Erskine College
Taylor Cline is a 6’1 180lb linebacker who had a big season at Mount Dora Christian Academy. Taylor was known as a leader on the Bulldogs team and he was instrumental in helping the team win a conference championship this season. He announced his commitment yesterday to play for Erskine College in South Carolina which is an NCAA Divsion II Program.
Cline played offense and defense. On the defensive side of the ball, Cline made 24 tackles this year and led the team in interceptions with 4. He caused a fumble and also led the team with 3 fumble recoveries. He did a great job in pass protection and is not afraid to take a hit. He’s usually the first one in on a tackle.
Cline played both ways on offense and defense. He was the team’s running back and led MDCA in rushing yards and receiving yards. Cline finished with 612 rushing yards and 373 receiving yards. Cline would have 15 offensive touchdowns on the season as well, so he was called upon a lot by coach Tackett.
He is such a versatile player. He can play offense or defense, and Erskine is getting not just a great athlete but a good student. Taylor Cline has a 4.0 GPA. He works incredibly hard on and off the field. No matter what he chooses to do, he is poised to go far in life.
We want to congratulate Taylor Cline on this big commitment! Congratulations to his family, friends, coaches, and everyone who has made an impact on his life. We look forward to seeing him continue his academic and playing career at the next level!”
