MDCA Football Team Remains Undefeated With 51-0 Win Against Duval Charter
The Mount Dora Christian Academy (MDCA) Bulldogs football team has surged to a 7-0 record this season, continuing their dominance on the field with a blend of strong defense, high-powered offense, and tenacity. Last night the Bulldogs won 51-0 against Duval Charter in a delayed game due to Hurricane Helene. Under the guidance of head coach Kolby Tackett, the Bulldogs continue to show why they are ranked as one of the top teams in the SSAA.
This year’s success can be attributed to the leadership of senior standouts like Nathan Roach, a versatile quarterback with a knack for reading defenses and making big plays under pressure, and his twin brother Seth Roach. Their dynamic chemistry, developed over years of playing together, has been central to the Bulldogs’ offensive and defensive prowess.
Other pivotal players like Frank Hicks who has 5 touchdowns and co-quarterback Jayden Burgos have been a big part of the success of the offense. Defensively is where MDCA has shined though. The defense has 11 interceptions and 12 fumble recoveries through 6 games. That doesn’t even account for the statistics in last nights game. Mike Napoli leads the team in tackles with 46 on the year while Tyler McClinton-Hutto leads the team with 16 tackles for a loss.
MDCA is currently ranked as the #6 team in the Sunshine State Athletic Association but I have them ranked inside the top 5 teams if not higher. This Friday evening we have a battle of two undefeated teams. Christ’s Church Academy is 5-0 while MDCA enters the game 7-0. This is going to be an awesome contest so be sure to come out and support the team if you can!
