MDCA Presents Shrek the Musical Jr. – Tickets Now on Sale!
Get ready to embark on a whimsical journey as Mount Dora Christian Academy presents Shrek the Musical Jr. Tickets are now available for three enchanting performances taking place at Mount Dora Christian Academy on March 22, March 23, and March 24.
Based on the beloved DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the Musical Jr. brings to life the hilarious and heartwarming story of everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, as he sets off on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona and confronts a ragtag cast of fairytale characters along the way.
Performance Dates and Times:
- Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m.
- Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m.

Mount Dora Christian Academy is committed to nurturing students’ talents and providing opportunities for artistic expression. Through their dedicated teachers and comprehensive arts education programs, students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop their performance skills, and share their talents with the community.
The play is under the direction of under Cheryl Abbate, who has helped the theatre program at MDCA has flourish. Each year, she orchestrates captivating productions that showcase the talents of students from grades K-12.
“I love directing and teaching, because they both try to accomplish the same thing-getting a group of people together with different skills and talents, and guiding them toward a creative product,” she says. “Performance and production are fun and they teach incredible life skills! I want other people to see and experience that whether they’re on stage, back stage, or in the audience.”

Originally from the small town of Berryville, Arkansas, Cindy has become a multimedia specialist in journalism, photography, videography, and video editing. She has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas and produces Style Magazine's Sports Hub Podcast and the Healthy Living Podcast. She also produces for Beacon College’s Telly Award-winning PBS show, “A World of Difference.” When she isn’t working, Cindy loves traveling the National Parks with her husband , Ryan, and son, David, photographing wildlife.
