Get ready to embark on a whimsical journey as Mount Dora Christian Academy presents Shrek the Musical Jr. Tickets are now available for three enchanting performances taking place at Mount Dora Christian Academy on March 22, March 23, and March 24.

Based on the beloved DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the Musical Jr. brings to life the hilarious and heartwarming story of everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, as he sets off on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona and confronts a ragtag cast of fairytale characters along the way.

Performance Dates and Times:

• Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m.
• Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m.

Mount Dora Christian Academy is committed to nurturing students’ talents and providing opportunities for artistic expression. The play is under the direction of under Cheryl Abbate, who has helped the theatre program at MDCA has flourish. Each year, she orchestrates captivating productions that showcase the talents of students from grades K-12.

“I love directing and teaching, because they both try to accomplish the same thing-getting a group of people together with different skills and talents, and guiding them toward a creative product,” she says. “Performance and production are fun and they teach incredible life skills!  I want other people to see and experience that whether they’re on stage, back stage, or in the audience.”
