MDCA Welcomes Tad Kirby As Head Track & Field Coach

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Mount Dora Christian Academy (MDCA) has announced the appointment of Tad Kirby as its new head track and field coach and secondary physical education teacher. Kirby joins MDCA from Wall High School in Wall, Texas, bringing with him a wealth of experience both as an athlete and a coach.

A native of Mason, Texas, Kirby competed as a four-year track athlete at Harding University, where he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in strength and conditioning. Known for his dedication to fitness and a love for the outdoors, Kirby is enthusiastic about his new role at MDCA.

(MDCA Track & Field is coming off a successful 2024 season, We look forward to what they can accomplish in 2025.)

“I’m excited to bring what I know to MDCA and help these young men and women grow and develop, not only into better athletes but also into better men and women and Christians,” Kirby said.

At MDCA, Kirby aims to inspire student-athletes both on and off the track, emphasizing academic achievement, athletic excellence, and spiritual growth. His experience and passion for coaching are expected to elevate the school’s track and field program.

MDCA student-athletes are eager to welcome Coach Kirby and are looking forward to his leadership in the upcoming track and field season.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
