Michele Moreman Leads The Villages Volleyball into Promising 2025 Season

When Michele Moreman took over as head coach of The Villages High School volleyball program, expectations weren’t just raised, they were redefined.
Now entering another season at the helm, Coach Moreman is continuing to shape a culture of excellence both on the court and in the classroom. A proven winner, Coach Moreman has brought championship pedigree and a passion for youth development to a Buffalo program looking to build on last season’s postseason run.
As a three-time FHSAA state champion as head coach at The First Academy in Orlando in 2008, 2009 and 2010, she compiled a 139-43 overall record from 2004-10 and three times was named FHSAA Class 2A Coach of the Year. That resume speaks volumes. She also serves as Director of Youth Volleyball for the Buffalo Stampeders Youth Sports Club, ensuring her impact reaches far beyond the high school gym.

(Viviana Toucet returns for her senior year at The Villages as the teams leader in kill shots in 2024.)
“It’s about building something the community can be proud of,” Moreman says. “We want to compete, of course, but it’s about growth, character and preparing these athletes for life beyond the sport.”
A standout student-athlete herself, Coach Moreman earned five Academic All-American honors at Lynn University while competing in both basketball and volleyball. She was named team captain in both sports and earned three All-Sunshine State Conference awards before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an MBA.
Last season, The Villages went 14-13 and advanced to the FHSAA Regional Semifinals before falling to eventual state champion Lake Highland Prep. With a strong core returning, the Buffalo have every reason to be optimistic in 2025.

Among the returning standouts is Viviana Toucet, who led the team in kill shots a year ago. Sharon Weichens, one of the top setters in Central Florida, will once again guide the offense. Weichens is coming off an injury suffered late last season so we look forward to seeing how she bounces back. Meanwhile Angelyn Hunt, a hard-hitting freshman who competed last year as an eighth grader, adds a dangerous attacking option. Alexa Taylor returns at libero, bringing stability, while Alexia Laws gives the front line much-needed height and presence at the net.
The Buffalo open their season in just 12 days, hosting Foundation Academy at 5 p.m. at The Villages.
Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
