MONTVERDE, Fla. — Kevin Boyle, the legendary head coach who turned Montverde Academy into a national high school basketball powerhouse, is stepping down from his role, the school announced Monday.

“It is with mixed emotions that Montverde Academy announces the departure of our esteemed Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach and Director of the Center for Basketball Development, Kevin Boyle,” said Nicole Smith in a statement. “Coach Boyle has accepted an incredible opportunity that will further his illustrious career in basketball.”

(Coach Boyle has hosted countless basketball camps and has helped so many players make it to the next level in the game.)

Boyle, who took over the program in 2011, leaves behind a legacy of dominance. Under his leadership, the Eagles secured seven national championships in the past decade, consistently producing top-tier collegiate and professional talent. His tenure has seen Montverde Academy cement its reputation as one of the premier prep basketball programs in the country.

Beyond the accolades, Boyle made a lasting impact in Lake County, instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in his players. Many of his former athletes have gone on to excel at the NCAA and NBA levels.

“As Coach Boyle embarks on this new chapter, we wish his family continued success and happiness,” the statement continued.

Montverde Academy remains committed to maintaining its elite basketball program. The school has announced plans to conduct a nationwide search for Boyle’s successor, seeking a leader who will uphold the program’s tradition of excellence and player development.

Boyle’s announced that he will become the next head basketball coach for Spire Academy in Ohio when the season is over.
