LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The Mount Dora Babe Ruth 16U Cobra team capped off a perfect regular season in thrilling fashion Saturday, completing a dramatic comeback to secure a 5-4 victory and the top seed heading into tournament play.

After falling behind 4-0 in the first inning of their second game of the day, the Cobras clawed their way back. Trailing 4-3 with two outs in the sixth inning and the game on the brink of expiration due to the time limit, the team delivered in the clutch. A timely triple followed by a momentum-shifting double pushed two runs across the plate, sealing the comeback and keeping the undefeated streak alive.

The win not only preserved the Cobras’ spotless record but also showcased what this team is made of as we come into the tournament season.

“These boys hit big when it counted,” the team said in a social media post “They showed exactly what MDBR baseball is all about — heart, grit, and never giving up.”

With their undefeated record and top seed secured, the Cobras now shift their focus to tournament play, where they’ll look to carry their momentum and compete for a championship.
