Mount Dora Christian Academy’s Britton Wise Breaks School Single-Season Hits Record
MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Britton Wise wrote his name into the Mount Dora Christian Academy record books on last week, delivering his 46th hit of the season to set a new single-season mark during the Bulldogs’ 12-2 victory over Countryside Christian.
Wise, a standout at the plate all year, has been nothing short of spectacular for MDCA. Through 28 games, the sophomore is batting a blistering .474 with 46 hits, 15 RBIs, eight doubles and 34 runs scored. His .544 on-base percentage also leads the team, giving the Bulldogs a reliable catalyst at the top of the order.

MDCA pounced early against Countryside Christian, building a big lead behind a steady offensive attack and Wise’s record-setting performance. The Bulldogs’ ability to get runners on base and capitalize has been a key factor in their success this season — a trend Wise has helped fuel with his consistent approach.
Congratulations to Wise. This is a massive accomplishment and we are looking forward to watching him through the rest of the playoffs and the next few years at MDCA.
Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
