Mount Dora Community Trust To Match $100,000 During Giving Week
The Mount Dora Community Trust (MDCT) kicked off its fifth annual Giving Week, a celebration of generosity and community spirit designed to support local organizations and amplify their impact. Taking place throughout the week, Giving Week 2024 features opportunities for organizations to earn matches, bonuses, and special awards, all made possible through the unwavering support of local donors.
Highlights of Giving Week 2024:
- Golden Grant Days:
MDCT is providing $100,000 in matching funds. This includes:- First Place: $40,000
- Second Place: $20,000
- Third Place: $12,500
- Fourth Place: $7,500
Additionally, $20,000 will be distributed through exciting special contests throughout the week.
- Pop-Up Contests:
Organizations have the chance to win $2,500 during surprise daily contests, sponsored by local businesses. - Special Contests:
- Most Individual Donations: $5,000 for the organization with the most individual donors who do not place in the top four.
- Social Engagement Contest: $5,000 for the organization with the highest engagement on MDCT’s pinned Facebook post.
- Daily Matches:
On Day 1, MDCT will offer a 1-to-1 match for donations up to $500 until $10,000 is distributed. - $2,500 Pop-Up Contest:
Sponsored by Kim Varnadore of State Farm, the organization that raises the most funds between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. today will receive an additional $2,500!
How to Participate:
Supporters are encouraged to visit the Mount Dora Community Trust Giving Week 2024 Leaderboard to monitor the progress of their favorite organizations and make donations. Donors who wish to support multiple organizations must complete separate transactions for each charity.
Organizations participating include a diverse group of nonprofits dedicated to arts, education, healthcare, animal rescue, law enforcement support, and more. A full list of participating charities and links to donate can be found on the MDCT website.
