Mount Dora High School senior, Marissa Williams, was involved in a very serious motor vehicle accident on March 28th, 2024. She was taken to Waterman Hospital; however, due to the severity of her injuries, Marissa was airlifted to Orlando Medical Center.

Marissa suffered from two collapsed lungs and internal bleeding. She underwent emergency surgery to remove her spleen and address other internal bleeding. She remains in the ICU, ventilated, as they continue to monitor her condition.

Marissa faces a long recovery ahead, as she will unfortunately need additional surgeries to make a full recovery. She is a 17-year-old Lake County resident, a senior at Mount Dora High School, and part of the graduating class of 2024.

On behalf of the Williams family, a GoFundMe account has been set up for Marissa to help the family cover her treatment and recovery expenses. If you would like to donate, the link to the GoFundMe is here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/marissas-recovery-medical-expenses?utm_campaign=p_cp+fundraiser-sidebar&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer

Please keep Marissa and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to fight for her life and recover.
