Mount Dora Longhorn Steakhouse Opening Soon!
The Longhorn Steakhouse located off US Hwy 441 in front of the Walmart Supercenter and Epic Movie Theatres is getting set to open its doors to customers. The location is finishing up construction with an opening date still TBD. We reached out to Longhorns Steakhouse for comment, however they have not returned our calls.
The restaurant will be a welcomed addition to the area which includes Chili’s, Jersey Mikes, Marco’s Pizza, Chick-Fil-A and a few other chain locations. The new Longhorns are finishing the construction of the interior along with the parking lot. Paving should begin sometime in October with an opening date to be announced once the building goes through inspections to ensure its safety.
This location sits at a once vacant portion of land that resided right in front of the Walmart Supercenter. The new location will be located next to Murphy USA gas station along with First National Bank of Mount Dora. The location will only be accessible via Eudora Road or by turning into the Walmart Supercenter. There does not seem to be any way to access the restaurant directly off of Hwy 441. This section of road is so busy that most businesses along this stretch utilize a road leading to a turn light.
As the construction continues to get closer to completion we will continue to wait to hear when an opening date may be announced. We would imagine that Longhorns would want to open sometime before the holiday season and the influx of snowbirds to the area of Mount Dora, Tavares and surrounding communities.
We would estimate that a late October or early November opening would likely be in the cards however that all depends on construction and inspections to be carried out. At latest we could see a December opening. We highly doubt with the progress being made that an opening will be pushed to 2024 but you just never know these days. We will update the story as we know more information in the coming weeks.
