New Traffic Signal Now Blinking At S.R. 44 and Waycross Avenue in Mount Dora

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has installed a new traffic signal at the intersection of State Road (S.R.) 44 and Waycross Avenue in Mount Dora.
The signal is operating in flash mode and is expected to become fully operational within the coming weeks.
Drivers on S.R. 44 will encounter a yellow flashing light, which serves as a temporary alert to help motorists notice and adjust to the new signal before it is fully activated with red, yellow, and green lights. While the signal is flashing yellow, drivers should remain alert and proceed with caution. Drivers should yield to pedestrians, bicyclists, or vehicles already in the intersection and ensure it is clear before continuing.
Drivers on Waycross Avenue encounter a red light.
Once fully activated, the signal is intended to enhance safety by managing traffic flow at the intersection and reducing the risk of crashes.
Questions and concerns can be directed to the FDOT District Five Public Information Office at FDOT-D5COMM@dot.state.fl.us or by phone at 386-943-5593
