Nine East Ridge High Female Athletes Sign College Commitment Letters

Clermont, FL – In a landmark achievement for East Ridge High School, nine outstanding female athletes officially signed college scholarships this week. This is a big moment for the school and for girls athletics in Lake County. We are so glad to see these ladies take the spotlight and there is some amazing talent that will be headed  all over the place. Below we have a list of the signings.

Alexandra Remaklus – Golf at Nova Southeastern University
Alexandra Remaklus, the first regional golf champion in East Ridge history, leads this talented group. Her record-breaking performance caught the attention of Nova Southeastern University, where she’ll continue her golfing career. Alexandra’s achievements are a testament to her skill and an inspiration to her teammates and successors at East Ridge.

Peyton Tesmer – Swimming at Indian River State College
Swimming sensation Peyton Tesmer, the school’s 100 freestyle record holder, is heading to Indian River State College. Known for her relentless pursuit of excellence, Peyton’s achievements in the pool make her one of the Knights’ standout athletes, and she’s eager to build on her legacy in college.

Katie Murphy – Diving at the University of West Florida
After claiming the title of regional diving champion, Katie Murphy is ready to take her talents to the University of West Florida. Her exceptional skill and competitive spirit have made her a formidable presence on the diving board, and she looks forward to continuing her success with the UWF Argonauts.

Amberlynn Collins – Softball at St. Petersburg College
A four-year letterman in softball, Amberlynn Collins has been a cornerstone of the Knights’ team. She will join St. Petersburg College, where her leadership and experience are expected to shine. Amberlynn’s consistency and dedication have set a strong example for her teammates and younger athletes.

Sariah Espada – Softball at Howard University
Sariah Espada, a four-year letterman in both softball and basketball, has earned a scholarship to Howard University. Her versatility and determination make her a valuable addition to the Howard softball program, and she is excited to continue developing her skills at the collegiate level.

Lilly Land – Softball at Gulf Coast State College
Named the 4A District 7 Player of the Year in 2022, Lilly Land’s exceptional performance has led her to Gulf Coast State College. Her talent on the field, coupled with her accolades, reflects her dedication to the sport, and she’s eager to make an impact at the next level.

Allison McCleary – Softball at Concordia University
Multisport athlete Allison McCleary will attend Concordia University on a softball scholarship. Having competed in softball, cheer, cross country, and track, Allison’s diverse athletic skills set her apart and serve as an inspiration to her peers at East Ridge.

Sydney Ralstin – Softball at Palm Beach Atlantic University
Sydney Ralstin, a four-year varsity letterman, has been a steadfast player for the Knights. She’ll continue her softball journey at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where her dedication and talent promise to contribute to her new team.

Olivia Shoemaker – Softball at Keiser University
Completing this historic group, Olivia Shoemaker has signed with Keiser University. A four-year varsity letterman, Olivia’s hard work and commitment to the game earned her this scholarship. She looks forward to advancing her athletic career and contributing to the Keiser Seahawks.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
