Orlando Health South Lake Hospital Named a Top Community Hospital in the Nation

Orlando Health South Lake Hospital has been named one of the nation’s top community hospitals by Becker’s Hospital Review, earning a spot on the publication’s 2025 list of “100 Great Community Hospitals.”
The annual list recognizes hospitals for clinical excellence, academic advancement, and personalized, whole-person care. Selection is based on publicly available data and editorial review; hospitals cannot pay for inclusion.
Orlando Health South Lake was the only hospital in Lake County to make the list.
“Community is at the core of our care,” says Lance Sewell, president of Orlando Health South Lake Hospital. “To be recognized by Becker’s as a top community hospital in the country is an honor and testament to the dedication we have shown the Lake County community for decades and will continue to show for many years to come.”
The hospital was also recently named a high performing hospital by U.S. News & World Report in six categories for common adult procedures and conditions. It remains the only hospital in Lake County with an “A” rating from the Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog for hospital safety.
