Pat Breeden Sworn In as Sumter County Sheriff

Pat Breeden has officially taken the oath of office as the new Sheriff of Sumter County, following an endorsement by Governor Ron DeSantis.

“Patrick will deliver for the residents by ensuring a tough-on-crime environment and following the rule of law,” said Governor DeSantis. “Patrick is a seasoned law enforcement leader, and he is best equipped to be an effective and trusted Sheriff on day one. I look forward to working with him.”

“Upon reflection of my swearing in ceremony, I am humbled by the support of the citizens of Sumter County and all of the member of our Sumter County Sheriff’s Office family.I look forward to the challenges of implementing my vision to continue keeping the Sumter County Citizens safe and providing public safety services. We will provide these services and law enforcement with honor and integrity. Thank you again, and God Bless.” says Sherrif Breeden

Sheriff Breeden brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to his new role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration and is a graduate of the prestigious Florida Sheriff’s Institute Commander Academy. With extensive budgetary expertise and a career deeply rooted in law enforcement, he is well-prepared to serve the community.

A lifelong resident of Sumter County, Breeden has devoted his life to contributing to the community he now serves as Sheriff. He succeeds Sheriff Bill Farmer Jr., who served Sumter County for an impressive 28 years. We wish Sheriff Bill Farmer Jr. the best on his future endeavor’s.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
