IL Villagio, a popular senior gaming center located near The Villages, has abruptly closed its doors, leaving many residents with questions and few answers.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office confirmed their deputies were on-site during the closure but stated they were “not involved with the closing” and were there only to assist. The Florida Gaming Commission has not yet responded to requests for comment.

(The parking lots have been empty at this usually busy senior entertainment center.)

Attempts to reach IL Villagio by phone were unsuccessful, as the line appeared to be disconnected or unattended.

On the morning of July 15, local resident Christina Gordon recounted her husband’s experience at the location in a recent Google review.

“My husband was there at 9:11 a.m. when a bunch of sheriff’s deputies arrived stating that the place was being raided for illegal gambling,” she wrote. “All machines have been removed as well and the place is closed. Very sad as it was a nice place to go on the weekend for a few hours.”

The building’s tinted windows make it difficult to see inside. As of July 21, the building’s power remained on, and some neon lights were still illuminated. However, the doors are locked, and the parking lot has been consistently empty. Due to the tint on the windows we cannot confirm how many machines might have been taken.

Due to its close proximity and golf cart accessibility from The Villages, IL Villagio had become a well-known destination for residents seeking an adult gaming experience.
