High school seniors who are residents of Eustis, Mount Dora, Tavares and Umatilla may now apply for scholarships to pursue post-secondary education during the 2025/2026 academic year.

Award considerations include scholastic ability, responsibility toward education, financial need, and includes a special emphasis on community service. Preference is given for first-generation college students, those in the Advancement Via Individual Determination or AVID program as well as under-resourced students.

The scholarships are as follows. The Bill Bland Rotary Scholarship Fund aids students in finance and business, law enforcement, agriculture and technical training. The Dunbar Endowment provides funding towards a nursing degree. The Richard Earhart Endowment offers an award to students who are residents of Mount Dora. The Norma Jean Schloot Endowment funds a scholarship for students in education and agriculture.

The Rotary Club of Lake County Golden Triangle administers the scholarships in cooperation with Mount Dora Community Trust. To be considered, apply on or by the deadline of March 15, 2025, through the trust’s portal at www.mountdoracommunitytrust.com. Email lakecountyrotary@gmail.com with questions.
