Savage Roofing – Men of Success 2024

Patrick Scheidler (Owner) and Jeremy Atkinson (General Manager) – Savage Roofing

After witnessing the shenanigans and outright fraud in the Florida roofing industry, Patrick Scheidler decided to start his own roofing company to bring some sense of integrity and honesty to the saturated market.

“We don’t want to scam people with unnecessary jobs and insurance claims that have a negative impact on the economy,” says Patrick.  “It’s not good for the housing market, not good for the insurance industry and certainly not good for the home-owner and since I am also a home-owner, it’s important to me.”

Savage Roofing started out a year ago out of desperation because Patrick was fired from another roofing company and decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship.

“I really wasn’t in a position to start a company because I’m a single dad raising my son and getting a license is a difficult process,” he says.

Patrick set out to pioneer a new way of doing things so with 20 years of experience, $3000 and retail roofing as his primary mission, he has done just that. Fast forward one year and Savage Roofing has booked and completed hundreds of successful roofing projects and become one of the fastest-growing companies in Central Florida.

Savage Roofing’s General Manager Jeremy Atkinson, a lifelong friend of Patrick’s, was skeptical about joining at first.

“I knew about the industry’s reputation and wanted no part of it until I sat down with Patrick,” says Jeremy.  “The first week, I sold seven roofs and now a year in, the business has quadrupled because of the way that Patrick is doing things.”

Patrick is adamant about building Savage Roofing with integrity and old school values. He says that educating the homeowner is a source of pride with each employee.

“I treat my team like family,” he says. “This is why they stay loyal and want to make the company a success, plus they know how I want things done.”

As for the future, Patrick is in it for the long-haul.

“I’m trying to build a generational company by including my employee’s families and kids,” he says. “I also think it’s important for my son to see that, which is my biggest motivator.”

Patrick was an army paratrooper and still enjoys skydiving. Jeremy is a huge sports fan and coaches his four kids year-round.
