South Lake High Football Team Inagural Bus Tour A Huge Success
South Lake High School Football embarked on their inaugural summer college bus trip from Thursday, May 30th to June 6th. Forty-nine football players participated, looking to showcase their skills and earn potential offers from Division 1 programs.
The players and coaches departed on a chartered bus at 4:30 a.m. on May 30th to Georgia Tech. From Georgia Tech, the Eagles traveled to the University of South Carolina, North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina, Mercer University, the University of Florida, and the tour ended with a trip to the University of Central Florida with a 7-on-7 tournament and padded lineman camp.
“The trip was a major success and will jumpstart the Eagles’ summer workouts. We were so happy with the turnout and look forward to building upon the success of this trip for the future,” says South Lake Head Football Coach Brad Lord.
South Lake High School has been committed to rebuilding the football program, which has started with head coach Brad Lord, who continues to attempt to turn the program around. South Lake finished with an 0-10 record in 2022. Last year, South Lake managed to win 2 games, which was a step in the right direction.
South Lake High will look to continue its uphill trajectory come August. There are some solid players returning to the program. These are very positive things to see in Lake County and get our players recognition at some of the USA’s most prestigious Universities. Congratulations to South Lake High on a great inaugural bus tour trip!
