Spectrum Internet Launches Major Addition to its Services to Rural Customers in Lake County

Spectrum has launched high-speed broadband, mobile, TV and voice services to more than 900 homes and small businesses in Lake County as part of a $7 billion rural expansion initiative. The nationwide effort aims to deliver fast, reliable internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations.
John Dosher, area vice president of field operations, said the project reflects Spectrum’s commitment to expanding digital access.
“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Florida and across America,” he said. “Our investment is making it possible to deliver the high-value broadband, mobile, TV and voice services now available in Lake County.”
The new service offerings include residential and business internet speeds up to 1 Gbps, with starter plans beginning at 500 Mbps. Spectrum’s infrastructure buildout features no modem fees, no data caps and no contracts. Business customers have options for 500 Mbps, 750 Mbps and 1 Gbps, with a network evolution underway to deliver gigabit upload speeds across all 41 states in the company’s service area.
Lake County Commissioner Sean Parks said the expansion supports much more than fast streaming and downloads.
“Expanding access to high-speed internet in rural areas is critical to fostering a robust economy, supporting small businesses, expanding opportunity for students and so much more,” Commissioner Parks said. “Spectrum’s rural expansion is delivering the fast, reliable connectivity that our county desperately needs.”
The rollout also includes Spectrum Mobile and Spectrum TV. Spectrum Mobile, the fastest-growing mobile provider in the U.S., offers unlimited plans starting at $30 per line, as well as By the Gig options. The mobile service connects with Spectrum’s Advanced Wi-Fi for seamless indoor and outdoor coverage.
Florida Senator Keith Truenow emphasized the broader community impact.
“Spectrum is helping us to bring high-speed internet to residents and businesses across the 13th district,” State Senator Truenow said. “Their partnership will be transformative for Lake County bringing many members of the community access to new digital tools for the first time.”
