EUSTIS, Fla. – Starr Wellness Collective (SWC), a Lake County nonprofit focused on youth health, is launching a six-week summer program aimed at equipping local teens with lifelong tools for wellness.

The SWC Summer Program, open to teens ages 14 to 18, runs from June 2 to July 11 and will offer instruction in fitness, nutrition and overall wellness. The program will meet three times per week at High-Intensity Functional Training (HIFT) facilities in Eustis (TriPower Strength and Conditioning) and Groveland (Boast Only CrossFit), with a goal of serving 100 participants.

(Students learn about stress management and SWC provides a great platform for local teens to learn how to be healthy both physically and mentally.)

Teens will take part in structured strength and conditioning sessions, along with interactive workshops on topics such as:

  • Hydration protocols

  • Building a healthy plate

  • Reading food labels

  • Cold plunging for recovery and heat safety

  • Stress management techniques

  • Sleep optimization

“We’re giving teens the tools to build lifelong healthy habits—physically, mentally and emotionally,” said Marisol Starr, president of SWC.

The program will conclude with a Community Showcase event on July 12, allowing participants to demonstrate their progress and celebrate achievements with family, friends and community leaders.

(SWC provides a great encouraging platform for teens to be self confident and the program has been very successful.)

In 2024, the program saw 60% of participants reduce excess body fat, 80% gain lean muscle, and 100% report improved cardiovascular endurance and confidence.

SWC’s mission is to prevent youth metabolic disease through education, action and access to health resources. The program is supported by volunteers and interns from the University of Central Florida and funded through community donations and business sponsorships.

The organization is currently seeking local sponsors to help meet increased demand and expand its reach in 2025 and beyond.
