Steve Hines Named Assistant Supervisor of Elections in Lake County

Lake County Supervisor of Elections Alan Hays is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Hines as the new Assistant Supervisor of Elections, effective January 2025. Hines steps into this role as Bob Bridgeman transitions to a part-time position following years of outstanding service and dedication to the office.

Originally from North Carolina, Steve Hines brings more than 17 years of elections experience to this position. Hines relocated to Florida to join the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office where he served as Elections Manager. Steve joined the Lake County Supervisor of Elections office in 2024 as the Manager of Candidate Services.  Steve has made significant contributions to the Lake County team, particularly in the candidate qualifying processes and employing his extensive professional training expertise.

During his career in North Carolina, Hines earned a reputation as a transformative election professional. His accomplishments include streamlining voter experience processes, developing effective communication strategies, and improving team performance through targeted training and goal setting. These achievements reflect his deep commitment to excellence in election administration.

Hays continued, “Steve’s vast experience and proven track record will not only be an asset to our Lake County office but will also ensure a seamless leadership transition. I am confident that Steve will maintain the high standards our voters expect while contributing significantly to the future of our office.”

Hines holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning with a minor in Political Science from East Carolina University. His expertise and leadership will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued success of the Lake County Supervisor of Elections office.
