Detectives with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics-related search warrant early Thursday morning at a residence on County Road 455 in Lake Panasoffkee, authorities say.

Sheriff Pat Breeden said the property is believed to be a hub of high drug activity in the area.

“We are serving a search warrant for narcotics. This is a high drug traffic house,” Breeden says in a statement. “I want to thank the men and women of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and our Special Investigations Squad for executing this search warrant and for the hard work they do to keep Sumter County safe.”

Breeden emphasized the agency’s ongoing commitment to addressing illegal drug activity in the county.

“Remember, if you’re going to do drugs in Sumter County, we may not catch you today, we may not catch you tomorrow, but we’re coming for you,” he says. “So we are shutting this drug house down today.”

No arrests or further details have been released. This investigation remains ongoing.
