The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office welcomed a new member to its team Monday morning as Sheriff Breeden officially swore in Chaplain Richey as part of the department’s new volunteer chaplain program.

The initiative, launched by Sheriff Breeden, aims to provide emotional and spiritual support to deputies and staff during times of crisis or conflict. As a volunteer chaplain, Richey will offer comfort, guidance, and encouragement to department personnel as needed.
