LEESBURG, Fla. — Miranda Starling, a Leesburg resident and Tavares High School graduate, will serve as the student commencement speaker for Lake-Sumter State College’s Fall 2024 graduation ceremony.

Starling, who has spent nearly a decade with the Lake County Tax Collector’s Office and currently holds the position of Director of Operations, is completing her academic journey at LSSC. Balancing a demanding career, family responsibilities, and community service, Starling embodies perseverance and dedication. Her journey reflects the commitment and ambition celebrated by the graduating Class of 2024.

LSSC will host the graduation ceremony next week, where Starling will share her inspiring story with fellow graduates and attendees.

Miranda’s achievements exemplify the values of hard work and service that LSSC strives to instill in its students. We are very proud of her representing the Class of 2024 as this year’s student speaker.

The ceremony will celebrate the accomplishments of students many of whom are receiving their associates degree’s as they prepare to embark on the next chapters of their lives.
