Tavares High Softball Standout Emmy Lee Signs Commitment To Lake-Sumter State College
Tavares, FL — Emmy Lee, a star player for the Tavares High School softball team, has officially committed to Lake-Sumter State College to continue her academic and athletic journey. Lee, known for her skill and dedication on the field, announced her decision surrounded by family, friends, and coaches who have supported her throughout her career.
“I am so excited to announce my commitment to Lake-Sumter State College to further my academic and athletic career,” Lee shared. “Thank you, God, for blessing me with this opportunity. A huge thank you to my mom for pushing me to be the best I can be. Thank you to my grandparents for being my number one fans. Thank you, Dad, for being the best catcher for all these years.”
Lee also expressed her gratitude to her coaches — Coach PJ, Coach Jacob, Coach Jet, Coach Neu, and Coach Huf — crediting them for their role in shaping her as a player and person. “Thank you for always believing in me and making me a better person,” she said.
In addition to her family and coaches, Lee extended a heartfelt thanks to her teammates on Blaze, a travel softball team where she honed her skills especially during the summer. “I wouldn’t be here without you girls believing in me every step of the way. I am so excited for what the future holds. Go Lakehawks!”
Emmy Lee pitched 76.1 innings in 2024 and she had 81 strikeouts. She also had a .305 batting average which is great for a pitcher. She wound up with 18 hits, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Emmy is just as much a star in the classroom as she is on the field as well. Emmy has a 4.77 GPA. She’s among the top ranked student-athletes at Tavares High School. We are thrilled for her and we look forward to seeing her continue to develop locally.
Once again congratulations to Emmy Lee, her family, friends and coaches. Way to go!
