Tavares High Softball Star Jasmine Lawrence Signs Commitment to Troy University
Tavares, Fla. — Jasmine Lawrence, a standout softball player from Tavares High School, has officially committed to Troy University to play college softball! We are so excited for her. Lawrence, known for her strong bat and stellar defensive skills, expressed heartfelt gratitude and excitement for the opportunity.
“I’m so grateful and so excited to announce my official commitment to Troy University to play college softball!!” Lawrence shared. “I cannot put into words the feeling that this opportunity has given me! First and foremost, I want to thank my family for their support and sacrifice throughout everything they have done for me. Thank you to all my travel ball coaches and teammates who have continued to challenge and push me to be the best version of myself on and off the field. Thank you to those who believed and invested in my abilities. I am excited for the next four years as a Trojan! Love, JamJam.”
Lawrence’s stats from last season underscore her impact on the Tavares High team. She led the team with a .410 batting average, totaling 25 hits, 23 RBIs, and 22 runs scored. Her power at the plate shined through with seven triples and four doubles. On defense, Lawrence was equally exceptional, posting a .910 fielding percentage over 19 games, leading the team with 30 assists and a team-high number of double plays.
We are so excited for Jasmine and we can’t wait to see her play one final season at Tavares High in the spring! Congratulations to her and her entire family. It’s always special when you get a Lake County athlete signing an NCAA Division 1 commitment, it’s even more special to know that she’s going to not only contribute athletically but academically as well. Troy University is located in Alabama. Way to go Jasmine!
