The Villages Charter High School won their first ever match at the beautiful brand new Shallow Creek Championship Golf course this week where they hosted Forest High School. While the match was close the entire way, The Villages would ultimately pull off the victory 147-155 and take home the first ever high school competition win at the new course.

Shallow Creek Championship Golf Course is a Par 70 course that features three Par 3s and two Par 5s on each nine and offers incredible views. This course becomes the 14th Championship Golf Course to open in The Villages and will instantly become a resident favorite. It also offers some challenging greens making competitive high school matches a lot of fun to watch.

Shallow Creek Golf Course is located on the incredible 31-acre eagle preserve. There is a practice putting green, hitting mats, a golf shop and restaurant included as well. The Villages will play at Shallow Creek six more times this season. The only other course The Villages High School golf team will play at in The Villages will be the Buffalo Invitational on September 14th which will be held at Glenview Country Club. The girls team will open the season against Tavares High at Country Club of Mount Dora on September 3rd before hosting their first match at Shallow Creek against Tavares on September 5th.

We wish all the Lake & Sumter County golf teams the best of luck in 2024!
