The Villages SC Rebrands Will Now Be Known as Brave SC
The Villages Soccer Club known as The Villages SC are now Brave SC, following an announcement from the club Sunday at its home complex in Summerfield, FL.
“We’re very excited because this is part of our growth,” co-founder Anderson DaSilva said. “It feels like we’re taking the next step, not becasue we’re leaving The Villages, but we have big plans for our complex here and we’re always looking to reach a higher level, and I think Brave SC is going to be able to take us furhter.”
All teams within the club including the USL League Two side, and UPSL team (previously The Villages SCII), the USL Academy team and all youth teams, will adopt the new name and crest, effective immediately.
The teams will still retain the Buffalo name and mascot as part of the new brand.
“We’ve been working on this for over two years, studying the heistory of the area, the county and the club, and we didn’t want to name ourselves something without meaning,” DaSilva said.” We always felt that ‘Brave’ defined the way that we played and the way we’ve operated as a club.”
During their time as The Villages SC, the Buffalo won four USL League Two Southeast Division titles, two-time USL 2 Southern Conference titles, and appeared in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup five times. The club won both the Southeast Division and Southern Conference in 2023.
